An OSINT map built only from sources you can check

Open-source intelligence means working from information anyone can obtain and verify. WorldPulse takes that literally: every one of its 13 sources is named on a public page with a link to the institution's own website, and every event links back to the original record.

Sources you can check, not sources we vouch for

Apps in this category tend to say their sources are "verified" or "trusted" without naming a single one. WorldPulse publishes the full list with official links, so you can read the feed yourself and judge it. 39,510 infrastructure facilities come from OpenStreetMap under the Open Database Licence, and are labelled as static data rather than live.

One event model across every feed

GeoJSON from USGS, GeoRSS from GDACS, CSV from GDELT, JSON from CISA — each arrives in a different shape. All of it is normalised into one model with a category, a subtype, a severity from 1 to 5, coordinates, a timestamp and a source. Duplicates arriving from several feeds are merged by proximity, time window and title similarity.

What we deliberately leave out

No DEFCON gauge: the real level is classified and every app showing one is scraping a hobbyist site or inventing it. No live satellite or drone imagery: that API does not exist at consumer prices. No fleet tracking: warships switch off AIS when operational, and the weekly published positions some apps relabel as "live" are neither live nor licensed for it.

Questions

What is an OSINT map?

A map built from open-source intelligence: information from publicly available sources such as government feeds, scientific agencies and news reporting, rather than from classified or proprietary channels.

Is WorldPulse a free OSINT tool?

Yes, for the map, the feed and all 13 sources. A Pro subscription adds unlimited watch locations and strategic infrastructure layers.

Can I see exactly which sources are used?

Yes, at tryworldpulse.com/data-sources — every source is listed with its official website, what it provides and how often it is read.
